HONDA'S TECHNOLOGICALLY ADVANCED GENERATORS GIVE YOU THE POWER TO GO ANYWHERE

Range includes inverter equipped models suitable for powering frequency-sensitive computing equipment.

NOTHING BEATS THE RELIABILITY AND DURABILITY OF A HONDA GENERATOR

In the pursuit of a cleaner, greener world, Honda place a very high priority on the development of engines that not only meet, but actually exceed the toughest emissions standards in the world.

With the peace of mind that comes with a one year commercial and two year domestic warranty, you can be sure Honda Generators are the most reliable in the world.

The Latest Innovations

You'll find Honda Generators incorporate the type of innovations and cutting edge technology that no other manufacturer can match.

Our remarkable EU, EM and EX series generators feature a unique high-speed multi-pole alternator built into the engine - enabling them to reduce their overall size and weight to around half that of the competition!

Honda's EU10i, EU26i and EU30is generators take this technology a step further by incorporating an advanced microcomputer-controlled sinewave inverter. This guarantees consistent commercial quality electricy and makes them ideal for use with frequency sensitive electrical equipment such as computers.

And with engine encasing sound-proofing, these generators (as well as the EX7) are able to exceed the toughest noise regulations in the world.

Other generators in the range, notably the EM25 and EM30, feature another Honda innovation - a built-in cycloconverter which offers new levels of quality, performance and useability.

Using Your Honda Generator

Before connecting an appliance to a Honda Generator, you need to check the generator has enough capacity (watts to both start it up and keep it running at maximum level. This includes checking both the maximum and rated output.

Calculating Rated Power

Some appliances, like light globes, have a clearly marked wattage. However, most give the required number of watts (the "rated power") on an attached compliance plate. In cases where the appliance only refers to required amperes (amps or A) simply convert to watts using the formula below.

Converting Amps to Watts

Multiply the amperage listed on the compliance plate by the voltage of the mains electrical system (240 volts). For example, a 5 amp appliance requires 1200 watts to run (5 x 240).

Start-Up Power

In addition, appliances with electric motors such as drills, sanders, polishers and power saws need an extra "boost" of watts at start-up. This can be substantially higher than the operating figure printed on the compliance plate, and depends on the type of motor.

Split Phase Motors require 8 to 10 times their rated power for start-up and Capacitor Motors need 4.5 times their rated power to start. The more common Series Motors need 1.5 times their rated power to start up. If you are unsure, check with the appliance manufacturer.

Choosing the Honda Generator That's Right For You

To help you choose the Honda Generator that's right for your needs, we've put together a chart listing commonly used appliances and their average power requirements. See inside this brochure, but please note that it is a guide only. If you need more information on any Honda Generator, simply contact your local Honda Dealer.
