CONTROL SYSTEMS

The Petbow range of control systems can be custom-made for manual electric start, automatic standby, and automatic synchronising and load sharing systems.

ALTERNATOR SPECIFICATION
  • Brushless, single-bearing and four-pole
  • Screen protected and drip proof.
  • Enclosed to IP22 (NEMA1) standard. IP23 as option.
  • IC 01 cooling system
  • Fully interconnected damper windings.
  • AC exciter and rotating rectifier unit.
  • Epoxy coated stator windings.
  • Rotor and exciter impregnated with tropical grade insulating oil and acid resisting polyester resin. Dynamically balanced rotor to BS5625 grade 12.5.
  • Sealed for life bearings
  • Layer wound mechanically wedged rotor.
  • Insulation to Class H. Exciter; triple dipped in moisture, oil and acid resisting polyester varnish and coated with anti-tracking varnish.
  • Sealed solid state automatic voltage regulator-self exciting, self-regulating, Output windings with 2/3 pitch for improved harmonics and pralleling ability.
  • Close coupled engine/ alternator for perfect alignment.

VOLTAGE REGULATION

  • Maintains voltage output to within + 1.5% or + 1% at any pf between 0.8 lagging and unity, at any variations from no load to full load, cold to hot and including speed droop variations at 4.5%
  • Voltage trimmer on AVR for adjustment.

    Waveform

  • Total harmonic distortion open circuit voltage waveform in the order of 1.5%
  • Three-phase balanced load in the order of 3.5%

    Telephone interference

  • TIF better than 50
  • THF to BS4999 Part 40 better than 2%

    Radio interference

  • Suppression to BS800 and VDE class G and N.

    Motor starting

  • Will withstand a short-term overload between 200% to 300% full load impedance depending on frame size and AVR used.

    Voltage surges

  • Surge suppressor fitted protecting exciter rectifier against short circuits or out of phase paralleling

    Frequency regulation +0.25% steady state load.

    Unbalanced loads

  • Optional three-phase sensing unit recommended for use with AVR if application is likely to have greatly unbalanced loads or highly non-linear loads.
