The New YDG from Yanmar - For Power and Economy
|
If you are looking for a silent compact, power source, with minimum fluctuations, the new YDG is waiting for you. Durability and long operation are designed in. Mobility approaches that of a petrol generator. And the direct injection air-cooled diesels, are amongst the smallest in the world, offer very good fuel savings. The power is high. The cost is low. Specifications and accessories are available for most markets. Listen carefully, or you might not even notice they're at work!
Versatile Power
An AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) gives low-fluctuation power delivery at a selection of voltages from 110V to 240V. Each model also mkaes available 12V D.C. - really useful for charging car/boat batteries (excluding 3-phase models).
Dusk-to-dawn Operation without Fill-up: the YDG-S
A single tankful of diesel will keep these air-cooled gensets on the go for 6~15 hours. The secret to such long operation is their low fuel consumption from features like direct injection - a major feat for this type of compact engine. These gensets give savings with every tankful of diesel. And they have a utility-size fuel tank, so you can leave them running all night.
Total Carry-around Convenience
The extra-lightweight YDG is as easy to move around as most petrol units. And its easy to store too. We've achieved it by linking together our small air-cooled diesel (the Yanmar L-A type) with a highle compact and light U-frame generator. The size and weight trimming allows you to take these 'open-type' sets anywhere.
Peaceful power; the YDG
Engine and generator rest on inclined rubber blocks. This improved mounting system takes away both vertical and horizontal vibrations, leaving you with a smoothly purring engine. Noise prevention measures are taken at several levels; at intake, in the combustion system and through the well muffled exhaust system.

Silent Operation Makes the YDG-S a More Popular Form of Power
The noise-proofing enclosure of the YDG-S makes it welcome in any location, especially at night. Exhaust noise is dampened by a large silencer while engine sounds are contained by a double-wall structure and absorbed by a sound deadening liner. To reduce vibration and noise there are the same high efficiency inclined engine mounts as the YDG, and the whole genset is compactly housed in a single cabinet.
Alarm System
The chance of damage due to low oil level operation is reduced with a Yanmar genset. An alarm is activated and the engine stops as soon as the oil falls low. Besides, the sockets on the control panel are recessed and the muffler is enclosed with a cover.
Instant, No-effort Starts
This is the first time a recoil starter has been used for this class of air-cooled diesel. With a short 70cm stroke, the engine jumps into life. Auto-return decompression makes starting effortless, quick and sure in all conditions, even when the temperature drops below zero.
Easy Maintenance, Long Lasting
Fewer parts mean fewer maintenance worries - inspection is easy and adjustments simple. Forced lubrication feeds oil to vital parts, and high quality materials give first-class durablity.

Air-Cooled Diesel Engine L-A Series
Its secret is Yanmar's micro-sized fuel injection system.
The fuel injection system, the heart of a diesel, has been refined through years of research and development at Yanmar. We have now succeeded in minimizing the weight and size of this equipment and simplifying its structure by adoption of a bushless pump and a smaller nozzle.
